Accessing Instagram Business Account insights can be tricky, but only if a user attempts to access them via Locowise without the right admin credentials in business.facebook.com.

The following 4 troubleshooting steps are always recommended if you're having trouble authenticating Instagram Business Accounts in Locowise (or any partner application verifying your access permissions for to stay compliant with Facebook's security policy).

This could feel like you're covering old ground and going around in circles at times. But these are just mandatory admin requirements by the native source, as Facebook and Instagram need to take all necessary steps to ensure only the right people can view their new advanced dataset for Instagram.

  1. Go to business.facebook.com

  2. Select the Business Settings option via the main menu

3. Once here, this should default them to the People tab via the left hand menu.

4. Then if you select your name from the list, business.facebook.com just requires your current role (in business.facebook.com, not the standard Facebook Insights UI) to be set to Page Admin (with all 5 people symbols shaded blue) to be able to access the heightened clearance and authenticate.

So to clarify, that's Page Admin. Not a Page Editor, Page Moderator, Page Advertiser or Page Analyst.

Another important check is to ensure the Instagram Account you're wishing to sync in Locowise is included to the linked Instagram accounts list in business.facebook.com's Business Settings area. If it's not, it can be included with the blue 'Add' button displayed in the example below.
