The Consolidated View in Scientist is designed to help you form quick, top level summaries of social activity by binding together different combinations of owned (pages/accounts you hold admin access to) and competitor profiles (those you do not hold admin access to).

Engagement Rate: How is one universal percentage formed to summarise ER for multiple profiles?

  • When you select just owned profiles via the left hand menu, the consolidated view will by default, make use of the native social networks full data set and form an average ER for these profiles. For instance, this would mean the percentage figure would utilise Engaged Users / Reach if it were Facebook.

  • When you select just competitor profiles via the left hand menu, the consolidated view will by default, make use of the appropriate competitor formula for ER and form an average ER for these profiles (where impression/reach data cannot be obtained) All ER formulas for competitor channels are searchable via the search bar of this help centre.

  • When you select a mix of owned and competitor profiles, the consolidated view will by default, revert to competitor ER formula (to maintain a level playing field for benchmarking between social profiles).
